70ties explotation
on has to love the fcked up, old and hilarious film trailers for horror and explotation films at the period when the color film had just made its revolution, 70 about to come. fast action films were easy to be made within taking the production either somewhere else (USA to the Filippines) or use the grave for fast changing "menu" at the cinema.

what if
i've always liked these ideas of films or books, where the author creates its own world and uses it as a playground to let the imagination fly. especially on the topics like the future and space and all these that remain a what if for the man kind for now. if the airlines are buying land on moon, then you've got to look around a little, now wont you. but fantacy is a key even here. the future is unknown, ok. what are you're suggestions that what can be there? the big brother, soma vacations, 2012, living on planets, traveling space - thats old already. i think we can think wider, go crazy and embrace the fact that we have no idea whats going to happen in the future, at least we - the artist if one can say so. this is the key to the door of the playground you can make yourself. simple fast examples:
- the finns made a film, released this winter "Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale" by Jalamari Helander. In the depths of the Korvatunturi mountains, 486 metres deep, lies the closest ever guarded secret of Christmas. The time has come to dig it up! This Christmas everyone will believe in Santa Claus - says the synopsis on IMDb. A finnish hollywood style film where Santa is a hell of a mean bastard. The cool thing about this film that one estonian actor, Peeter Jakobi, is playing a badass evil role there. See the trailer here: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi192256281
- the next film also by the finns, called "Iron Sky"(2011) by Timo Vuorensola. Short synopsis: The Nazis set up a secret base on the moon in 1945 where they hide out and plan to return to power in 2018. Is this not already epic enough to think out of the box? Well, see the trailer: http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi4232513305
- or just a simple example of "District 9"(2009) by Neill Blomkamp. Which is one of the favorite films for me I think in all times by all means (idea, production etc). An idea that aliens have invaded South-Africa? Yes, please. In a film like that. In case you have not seen this film before, its a must-see one. Get your appetite here: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3896050201
I will continue with this topic at some point because I really like to think about it and create my vision of the world at 2050 or later or in another 1000 years. Who knows, maybe they can freeze me by the time I am older and I will see it? But here is another example of an interesting approach to this topic. The short film is not in my style though, jet leaves a facinating tingeling inside:

i miss my sister. a lot. she is beautiful and crazy and she has always time for everyone. from saving a small bug from fire to time to visit grandparents. she has really long hair and she colors her eyebrows electric blue or green. she likes flying dresses and expencive underwear. she wears crazy colors together and hippy clothes. and sometimes a flying dress and then everyone is amazed. but they are anyways: when she opens her hair, or when she comes with a cake she has baked and you thought there is no time, or when her eyebrows are colored green. she likes animals, but mostly dogs and now she has a dog of her own - loki. loki is small and crazy and does not like to listen what people tell her, but go and find some trouble. she likes taking photos, but she does not do it so often, but when she does, they are great. she makes her kind of crazy art and has a good eye for interior design and small thingies. she has traveled around europe and seen a lot of different people, places and made many friends. sometimes this planet seems just to be too small for her. she is everything to me. within time we have grown into two different persons and somehow gone further from eachother, jet got closer too, as the fact that we are always fysically so far makes us linger for being close inside. ive wondered sometimes why we havent took a road together somewhere, but it seems that we have to walk our own ways before to walk any together. she is on the other side of the world now and i dont know for how long, seems that for quite long. i think how different she is when we see again and where we see again, maybe i will meet her aswell on the other side of the world? for the first time it is scary to think that someone so dear is so far.

the sounds

what I love the most about kiel is one very simple thing. I have never heard it before in any of the cities I have been to from America to Africa, maybe it exists only in kiel? I live on a crossroad, with many steetlights. And the lights there have a sound. A crazy sound, weird and somehow beautiful one. At least for me. As there is so many lights they all have a funny ticking sound, like they count the seconds to bling or something (and thats only at nights). Besides that it echoes there, all the lights are out of synchronizing, so it echoes even double. And as the lights are placed around the crossroad, when you sit at the corner of it, it feels like surround sound of ticking and all you think about is the things that never last. And once you come up to that you realize that nothing in out lives really last, everything has come to an end. Id like to record that sound, it reminds me that my life will end also one day and for that I have to love and live it, take every day as an opportunity and use what has come to me for a better good, that time is such a precious thing that its sad to waist it.

zeit und leute

I have always thought that what matters for me in life besides of the things that make me so happy I cant breathe (ofcourse) are the small things that make these big things happen. Snowflakes make slopes and drops become sea. For that I like to apprechiate these kind of moments, where I feel that I just saw or met something small, that once will have bigger influence. Like today I saw a guy walking at 3 o'clock at night in the middle of an empty street having only one thing in his hand - toilet brush. A new one, still in plastic. He had big mustasche, weird hat and a funny random jacket and he was singing and whisteling at the same time. i found him a wonderful character.

indian dinner
i took 6 different vechiacles today. from tallinn to kiel. its almost a fail, if you could call it so. but thats how you end up if every single train in your travel plan gets cancelled, and you get two connecting ones instead of your train. i've seen numerous german small cities and pretty many big ones, airports, busstations and various train stops and stations but nothing left me the same feeling as this:
on the fourth train of the day, i found no place to sit, so i sat down. a young man offered me a seat. he was handsome, older than me and wore funny indian design earphones. he offered his backpack for me to sit on and i agreed. we started to talk and two hours passed with laugh and feeling this devilish thing inside, that we have known eachother in a previous life. he asked me where i was going and i said hannover and he said the same. the stop was getting closer. someone said something german, fast and i did not catch it but he obviously he got worried.i asked if something was wrong and he said he missed something. i said that i still have an hour to the next train. we looked at eachother and the loudspeaker said something about some train, he grabed his things while hearing this, said that he can still make to this indian dinner for 2 euros and ran on the train. and suddenly the whole platform was empty and no one there, just the snowflakes and my cherry cigarette. i felt so funny and happy that he had left like this. i love these momentums. i would never like to know what he was really about or if he is grumpy in the mornings or if he likes whiskey. now i just have this moment of this wonderful person i met and lost because of the 2eur indian dinner in the downtown of hannover.
is'nt it just wonderful to have that feeling sometimes?

back in business
i havent wrote anything here for ages. a year and more. can you believe it? i think the first question must be, what is that made you come back and write again?
well. everything has changed. i have changed. but this blog has kept a lot of me as within the texts i have wrote almost two years ago, i randomly thought of it and pressed "new post", so here i am - back in business.
just to make it short and simple for the beginning - all the things that have changed within 1,8 years:
- i started to smoke (i have hated smoking most of my life)
- i dont live in Tartu anymore, have had two new homes in between, living in Tallinn
- i dont study in the same uni, I study now in the filmschool
- i have been to Africa 3 times within one year to film :)
- i hopefully make a good director one day
- i work much more, sleep a lot less and i have horrible eating habits
all the things that have not changed in 1,8 years:
- i have the best friends in the world
- O
sayanora, soon again!
a song and video to celebrate:
