today I fell madly in love with a feature film coming out, a crazy and almost loco one that makes me want to laugh and cry and then smoke something... Ive always loved films that make me think - can you really do that? but hey - thats why I love filmmaking. who said limits are there to not go over and rules not to break, I have a weird feeling that this is the film to prove it. Just see why:

ensalada mixta de los emotiones
I am having sushi for dinner and mixed emotions about being back, about being on the shooting, of friday coming tomorrow
of things starting and ending and those of already ended. But jet, in the middle of it - the little zen monk is giggiling and happy. I have good vibes.

Efterklang and "An Island"
I have a new obsession. The obsession is called "Efterklang" and it is a Danish band I am absolutely crazy about.
Do you know this band? Efterklang is one of those bands that thrives on live interaction and performance. The band playing together in a room is a much different animal than the band recording in a studio. A collaboration between the band and filmmaker Vincent Moon, An Island is a most unusual performance film. Conceived and created from the ground up as something that would play with the medium the picture was shot on an island off the coast of Denmark with the band pulling in as many musical collaborators as possible to generate a feature length performance with the music informing the film and vice versa rather than the film simply capturing a performance. Over an intense period of 4 days Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids and parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their Magic Chairs album. It was all filmed by Vincent Moon who same time conducted several filmic and musical experiments with Efterklang as his dedicated play mates. And making it even more exciting is the band's unusual distribution and screening strategy. They're calling on fans to host screenings in their homes, schools, or other venues, the only restrictions being that they must be free and the venue in question must hold at least five people. If you can meet those terms you're good to go, at no charge. Call it a thank you from the band to the fans who have supported them over the years. The movie will be out in February 2011.
See the 3rd trailer here, which is just wonderful on vimeo: http://vimeo.com/18622678
And some songs from them :

Last three ones have cool music videos too, very into style and motion of the band. Got to hear them live!

moonywolf

it is 08.00 by Estonian time. I have studied exactly the whole night and now too scared to go to sleep for 2h, as I wont wake up. so I am staying up, with grave for music and visuals, letting my brain rest. Ive always admired people who make beautiful pictures with epic colors and interesting small escape-worlds, where small girls in yellow dresses and make clouds out of their hair and samurais sail in the most beautiful kimonos over the seas of the world. not that I lack of material to dream and drift away, but the pleasure it is given to me through the colors for example on the pictures above make me feel warm inside. I really like it.
she makes wonderful stuff, go chek her up: http://moonywolf.deviantart.com/
